Please take a few minutes to explore the information that is currently available about the MVADIA, area businesses and community resources. We encourage you to re-visit the website periodically to see what changes have been made. If you are not a member be sure to check out the section on Membership. Also, feel free to submit the description, date, time, location and contact for any event you would like to post on our on-line calendar. (Minimum 3 weeks notice required.) Mount Vernon Avenue District Improvement Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Its reputation for business leadership and community services date back to 1955 when it was first known as the Mount Vernon Avenue Business Association. Today, MVADIA continues to be an advocate for East Side businesses, as well as a catalyst for change and voice on behalf of many in the community. MVADIA is governed by a board of directors comprised of representatives from area businesses,residents,government and human services organizations. MVADIA focuses primarily on; 1) Keeping abreast of neighborhood changes and the impact on living and working conditions; 2) Strengthening the area's economic base; 3) Attracting and developing businesses; 4) Increasing employment opportunities; 5) Improving the quality of life for senior citizens; 6) Providing opportunities for youth; and, 7) Making the Near East side a clean and safe place to work and live. The Mount Vernon Avenue area is one of 14 Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization (NCR) Districts funded by the City of Columbus.
